Life will be getting back to somewhat normal...I am so thankful that Dennis got his job back. It has been a long 3 months and I am happy (and so is he) that he will be returning to work.
He starts tomorrow morning at 7:30 AM...hopefully Hank will let me sleep in tomorrow morning.
Now if only I can get off third shifts...well at least one of the two things that I have been praying happened.

Future DIY Furniture
Big-D and I have a thing about big trucks. We both love big engines and both want big diesel engines in our next set of trucks. A lot of our conversations revolve around our trucks, what we want to do with the trucks. Really I feel like I live with a house full of boys because its trucks trucks trucks and hunting.
I bet you are wondering where I am going with this aren't you?
As I am sitting here I get a IM from Big-D.
It said: "Can we do this when my engine dies?"
Okay let me first say, usually the pictures I get from him are of big trucks, big trucks stuck in mud, trucks pulling something, trucks with big engines, etc. I was totally not expecting this:
My reply was of course yes.
Let's be honest here wouldn't that just be flipping awesome sitting in my living room.
Sorry, this is what happens when you have two engineers living in one house.

Because Sometimes Life Sucks!
Unfortunately, Dennis was one of the many that lost their jobs on Wednesday of last week and it totally sucks. I actually miss him at work, I work third shift and he worked first shift, our desks were 15 feet apart and I got to see him for an hour at work. The worse part is, they never called him to tell him not to come in and he drove into work (wasted 3 gallons of gas that's like $12) and couldn't get through the gate...great way to find out that you no longer have your job. But I guess it could be worse, we both could of lost our jobs.
Anyways, house stuff is going to be slowed for a while...maybe, I asked him to do a couple times around the house but lets be honest deer hunting is way more important then taking down the fake brick crap so we can put in a fireplace. Ironically, to make myself feel better because I am back to being a poor college student, I painted a room and will hopefully have time to go get a new ceiling fan up this weekend. We did a couple of other odd and end jobs around the house but nothing tohuge expensive.
Hopefully, I will have a deer hanging in my garage by Saturday night and I hope it's the one I kill. Going deer hunting this weekend, YES I ACTUALLY TOOK A WEEKEND OFF!
Anyways, hope everyone is well and stay tuned I am really hoping I can talk him into doing lots of stuff around the house, crap if I could get him to do the dishes it would be a small victory.

This Is What The Boys Were Doing...
while I was cleaning the house, making dinner for tomorrow (had to marinade some steak and chicken) and doing laundry.
I promise I will post lots of new recipes this week.
Before Hank climbed in bed and decided to use my pillow (that little brat) he was helping me with the ten loads of laundry (in the pictures below I was at like three loads). I mean seriously how do two people produce ten loads of laundry. Easy they don't do laundry for like three weeks.
"Mama, can we please go to bed yet?"
Good thing he barely sheds or his mama wouldn't be to happy with him.
Alright time to go finish the dishes and then off to cuddle with that little cutie.

He Went to Jareds...
I originally was planning on posting about the fact that I spent the last two days taping drywall but you guys will have to wait to hear about that story because I have better news!!
It's official...
Here's how it went down. I was standing at my computer and he was kept putting his head on my shoulder and well I wasn't really in the mood to be bothered; I was in the I need my space mood. After I disclosed this information he walked back to the living room only to return after a few minutes.
He then placed a card that only said "I love you more" in front of me. We don't really argue about the whole who loves who more thing cause I usually just say "Not possible". I flipped over the card and it was Jared's business card.
His response to my not so excitement was "Aren't you happy?"
Of course at this point I am was working on taping the drywall joints...
I responded "I'd be happier with the ring."
I could tell that he was slightly irritated with my lack of excitement. He was sitting there in what I would call his grumpy mood, so I did what I usually do when he's in his grumpy mood...I tackled him and tried to cheer him up.
He then asked if I wanted to see the ring and I answered with a "I don't think it's here", because let's be honest here I did look and I looked at his house and if it was at my house I would have found it.
He answered with a "Well your laying on it." So I literally got up and checked under the exact spot I was laying on, thinking how the hell did I miss seeing a diamond ring sitting on a blue couch. He laughed at me, and then told me to look under the couch. I felt like an idiot.
It was a totally random (or at least seemed random) proposal but totally perfect because we aren't romantic people at all.
After he proposed I politely asked if I could go back to my drywall job and he answered "You and your damn drywall...".

His Grilled Cheese
Big-D gets mad at me sometimes when I proclaim that he has the cooking skills that max out at boiling water.
So one day when I wasn't home for one reason or another he had to make his own dinner...
Then I recieved this picture.

He was so proud that he cooked for himself he had to show me.
I know can proclaim that he can boil water and make grilled cheese.

Stupid Fights
Are we the only ones that find stupid things to argue about?
We don't fight over money, there is no need to. I mean we own our home and his truck (still making payments on mine.)
We don't fight over not spending enough time with each other, I see him 6 days out of the week and since we work together I see him quite a bit. Wondering about the seventh day aren't you, I have class and work all day one day of the week and when I make it home it an hour after he has left for work.
We don't fight over children; we don't have any yet.
We don't fight over what to watch on TV; we don't have cable therefore we don't really have much to watch. I mean I'd rather not watch college basketball but I just let him watch it and find something else to do.
We don't fight about cleaning the house because I like to do laundry and enjoy cleaning the house; I just have to find away to get him out of the house long enough for me to clean it.
We don't fight over sex well because we are both in our twenties and there is no need to fight over that subject just yet.
We don't fight over him leaving the toilet seat up. He doesn't leave it up, he's trained.
No we manage to fight over what one could consider the world's stupidest things to fight over.
For example, this morning we went to Tim Horton's for breakfast. He thought he order two breakfast sandwiches when I heard him only order one. We argued over this for like five minutes about the number of breakfast sandwiches he ordered. I know life altering subject to be arguing about.
Another example, where things are in the kitchen. Come on you live here you should know where the mixing bowls are, where serving utensils are, etc. I hate it when he asks me where something goes or where it is several times over. My usual response is "how do you not know where it goes? In that cupboard, I am going to draw you a map of the kitchen cabinets if you ask again."
Even when we are driving somewhere we tend to bicker over what is on the radio. I tend to skip over "his favorite song" which by the is every song I skip over. Not really a true fight; usually goes like this "I liked that one." "I know but I like this one more."
Add in remodeling a house and there are even more stupid fights. Removing the cabinet wrong, easier if you remove that trim this way, just screw the damn drywall into the ceiling my arms are breaking (personal favorite). I was holding the piece of drywall up and he was taking his sweet time describing on how he was going to put this said piece of drywall in. I was like I don't care just screw it in my arms are hurting from holding this nice light piece of drywall above my head.
There are so many stupid things we argue about; I think that we are crazy.
I do love him, very very much.
Now stop laughing at us.

Day 13 & 14: Still Removing Wallpaper
I feel like I have been removing wallpaper for years now...I mean its only two rooms why does it feel like I have been doing this forever. I think I might be going slowly insane.
Before the wallpaper removal...
After wallpaper, trim and chair rail removal...
Truck shock on my dining room table, didn't you know that's were truck parts are put when you have to fix them slightly.
Before the wallpaper removal...
After wallpaper, trim and chair rail removal...
We managed to remove all the chair rail around the room and all of the trim except that little piece in the corner (but we will just pretend that it's not there, okay). I removed most of the wallpaper with some help of Big-D.
In order to put in our new stove we have to remove the old one plus the cabinet. No that is no Big-D, that is Mikey (he would kill me if he knew I called him that in public), Mikey is one of my good friends from high school and his dad is also a contractor. I know I have good connections right.
The cabinet almost out just need a to cut the counter out and the cabinet out. Then get a hold of the electrician to hook up a new outlet for new stove and I will be able to once again cook in my own kitchen. The small cabinet that we removed so that we can fit the refrigerator in, is going to go above the stove.
Then I had him replace the light switch in the guest bedroom because it was buzzing when you turned it on and I don't think it was suppose to do that.
The finished product, they even worked! How do you feel about the wall art around the switches?
Oh would you like to know what Big-D was doing while we were inside working our butts off today. I will show you what he was doing...
He put new shocks on this truck and got to play with his new impact wrench that I got him for Christmas.
Truck shock on my dining room table, didn't you know that's were truck parts are put when you have to fix them slightly.
Here is where he said that he loved his impact so much and that I was the most amazing person in the whole wide world (okay minus that last part).
Okay so I should be finish removing wallpaper sometime tomorrow since there is only a little bit left in the kitchen. Then to move on to bigger and better things, which I don't know what those are yet since there is so much to do and I don't know where to go next.
