Aren't I So Smart!!

I have a relatively small kitchen. Let me rephrase I have a large kitchen with small amounts of cabinet/counter space. I have always hated the fact that I kept my pots and pans are on top of my refrigerator because I really don't have a better place to keep them. It seemed like a good idea at first but then it just became a pain in the butt. I mean I had to rinse then out every time I wanted to use them because they collected dirt and dust like crazy, plus add the safety hazard of them falling on me (happened on a couple occasions). So by Christmas time I was ready for something different, so I  thought hey why not ask my mom for a hanging pot rack because that would be totally awesome...Well being the awesome mother that she is she decided that I needed a new microwave instead, I mean cool I have a microwave now (that I have used three times in the month and half it is been up) but where was I going to put my pots and pans....

Then I remembered something I had see on Houzz...(here is the link because for some odd reason it's not letting me upload the actual photo.)

Here is my version...

I do plan on painting the peg board, not sure if I want to do the same color as the wall or do something cool like an accent color. What do you think?

Now I'm trying to figure out a cool way to store my kitchen utensils. Any ideas? Have any cool ways of storing things you in your kitchen?

DISHWASHER!!!

I finally installed the "new" dishwasher that has been sitting in our garage since two days after we moved in back in December...I've been wanting to put it in but I just never managed to get around to it. I found what I call easier projects to do first. I didn't and still don't know a thing about plumbing so I was a little nervous about it and was totally winging it while installing the dishwasher. After four different trips to Lowe's and two days of cursing at the dishwasher, we finally got it done.

Where the old dishwasher was, for some odd reason the old owners had it across from the sink. We removed the set of drawers next the sink so that the "new" dishwasher could be put next to the sink.

Taking the old dishwasher out to the garage.

Had to instal a new outlet for the dishwasher. That copper supply line end up having to be replaced because it was cracked and leaked causing me to flood the kitchen when I used the dishwasher for the first time.

Installing some of the plumbing that was needed, new supply line but the drain line couldn't be put in because we bought the wrong one...opps. Didn't take a picture of all the plumbing set up.

New dishwasher all ready to go, we decided to leave the dishwasher out for a test run in case there was a leak.

Stella decided to help us out a little bit with doing the dishes.

Hank was to tired to help us.

So I kind of flooded the kitchen, just a little bit. Of course we didn't have any towels that were dry (I was doing a load of towels in the washer) when the flood occurred so I had to use all of the dish clothes and wash clothes I could find.

I am happy to inform you all that I haven't hand washed dishes, other than rinsing, it over a week and I am very happy about this.

Random Shooping Spree

Today I went on a small shopping spree. When I say small I really do mean small, I think I spent a total of like $25. It was rather fun actually.

It started at Harbor Frieght...I found a few things that I really liked there but didn't purchase anything. I will probably go back and purchase a few things that I really liked a some point in the near future. FYI-Harbor Freight is similar to a Ace Hardware store.

Next I found myself at Bed, Bath and Beyond. I love Bed, Bath and Beyond...so many things that I want to buy for a when the house is done.

Here's what I got today...

Cute mini pig fry pan. It says that is great from making eggs for sandwiches and pancakes. I totally want to make pancakes with this but my main concern is how would I flip the pancake...I know buy the little pig spatula too.

Since I got the pig mini frying pan, I thought I should get the matching pig kitchen timer. His name shall be Harry.

I also got this nice silicone keyboard. I was looking for one of these the other night and couldn't find one. The reason I wanted one was because for one when I type on the normal keyboard you can hear from a mile away. My old boss would ask me if I was mad at the keyboard. (Already have noticed that I now type quieter.) Second a while back my laptop screen decided that it no longer wanted to work so Big-D hooked it up to a computer monitor and I was tried of typing off to the side of the monitor instead of front of it.

This is my "office" on a little piece of corner counter space in the kitchen. I have noticed that some of the numbers across the top don't seem to work but that is okay I can always use the number pad or just reach over to the keyboard on the laptop.

After Bed, Bath and Beyond we went to Target. And there is where I found him...

I have never seen a non-white cow creamer before, so when I saw him I just had to buy it. I haven't come up with a name for him yet. Feel free to leave a suggestion in the comments.

Then  I went home with no plans to do any more shopping.

Then came the I need to run to Meijer to get milk...That's is where I bought this impulse buy. Justin Verlander Fastball Flakes. Now as one might know but I LOVE the Detroit Tigers and anything Detroit Tigers so I just had to buy them. When I grabbed them Big-D rolled his eyes at me.

Over all I had a fun day of shopping, even though I didn't really buy that much nor spend that much money.

Look at all of the fun things that I bought.
