Is it December 15th yet?

Is it December 15th yet?

Life has been so crazy and I don't see an end in sight for the craziness ending. Plus I kind of miss sleep; it might be to the point I may need to look up the definition just to remember what sleep is.

Work is doing big layoffs right now (180 employees by the end of this week), so everyone pray that Big-D and I both have our jobs on Monday of next week. Let's just say this has add unneeded stress to my life.

Not like I already work 45 to 50 hours a week, have like 17 credits this semester, one HUGE design project, senior seminar presentation to prepare, a house that needs some fixing, a wedding to plan, a fiancee to feed and a puppy to play with....oh and I don't have internet currently at home.

I have a lot of things I plan on blogging about here is the list:
  • After: New Roof
  • Noodles & Meatballs
  • Oatmeal Cookies
  • Living Room Ceiling (The insulation is officially installed and I am a happy camper since it was 37° in the house this morning and now can turn my furnace on).
  • Guest Bedroom Paint (if I get that done this weekend)
  • Teraki Chicken Stir Fry
  • Some pictures of the Hanky Panky
  • A Graduate in the House (don't get excited it's not me)
  • Other odds and ends
Hopefully we will have our internet back sometime towards the end of this week so I can get back to blogging without having to try and do it quickly at work or school.

Anyways, hope all is going well with everyone.

Anyways, I will hopefully be posting lots of fun things next week so please come back and forgive me because honestily how could you not love this face...

Daily Dog Challenge: 3rd Edition

Trying to catch up on the Hanky Panky Daily Dog Challenge...I love that Hank's nickname is Hanky Panky. Here are days five through eight.

Day Five: Starts with B...Bed

Make a photograph of your dog with something that starts with B in the photo. It can be subtle or obvious, but tell us what it is so we don't miss it.

Day Six: Plain Background

A plain background can really set your dog off. Find a plain background and take a picture of your dog in front of it. (It's a mostly plain background).

"Why did you turn the lights on? I was sleeping and drooling all over your pillows."

Day Seven: Tongue

Show a little or show a lot? Give us your best tongue shot!

Day Eight: It's a Mystery

Interpret it any way you like, whether your dog is the next Sherlock Bones, is mystified by something he or she can't figure out, or does something that leave you baffled. Shoot whatever idea comes to mind. Just have fun with and share your photos.

"What? I swear I have no idea how this happened..."

Orange Pork Chops

No they aren't orange the color but orange the flavor and quite delicious.

I've discovered two ways to make this. My favorite way is on the grill, but personally I could use the grill all year around and like a lot of things on the grill. The other way is to bake it in the oven with all of the marinade. Both are quite yummy and I have cooked it both ways. Today, however, I will show you how to cook it via the grill.

Ingredients: Pork chops (4 to 6), orange juice, lime juice, salt & pepper, brown sugar, cinnamon and ginger.

Mix all of the ingredients (minus the pork chops of course) together.

In a resealable container (ie: Ziploc baggie) place pork chops and marinade mixture.

Place in refrigerator for 2 to 8 hours.

Grill for about 4 minutes per side or until slightly pink in the middle.

(Please ignore my Halloween plate...the only plastic plates I own and I don't like taking glass plates outside.)

Ingredients:
  • 4 to 6 pork chops
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
  • Remove fat from pork chops and place in Ziploc bag.
  • Mix rest of ingredients together.
  • Pour the marinade over the pork chops and seal Ziploc.
  • Place in refrigerator for 2 to 8 hours.
  • Grill 4 minutes per side or until slightly pink in the middle.
Enjoy,
