I hope everyone had a stress free and relaxing long weekend.
I certainty didn't! Of course I still only had one day off...grrr I think I want a new job.
We had fun, we went up the cabin on the lake. Hank we swimming and had a blast.
However, it was rather stressful since there was a fugitive loose in the area. That's right fugitive got loose when he was being transported and was hiding somewhere in the woods just south of the cabin. In case you didn't know, northern Michigan is mostly thousands and thousands of acres of woods, making hiding very very easy. To make things even better said fugitive had a loaded gun. Lets just say I didn't sleep all that well either.
Anyways, they found the fugitive this morning and I will now be able to sleep peacefully.

Because sometimes you get bored
It was a very slow Friday at work since a lot of people bugged out early.
It started out with just stacking the bolts and fixtures.
It then became this...

And the finally product...
Jealous of our mad skill, we can make a washer balance.

New Favorite Word
It seems like I have a new favorite word.
I think I say this word at least five dozens times a day. That might even me an under statement sometimes I say it four times in the same minute.
Here I will define my new favorite word to you first: "to disapprove or refuse".
My new favorite word is "no".
Lindsay was over and asked me a "yes or no" question and I answered her yes but then right after that said no to Hank. It was rather funny she's looked at me like I had lost my mind.
I have so many fun things happen in my life right now that I didn't seem to have time to even do a post. Stay tuned for some fun posts about food, the house and the Hurricane (aka Hank).

Mother's Day Weekend
Saturday started out not so good. I was already running late for work when I went to take Hank outside. We were three steps from being out the door when he had an accident. After cleaning it up, I was then in a big rush to get to work on time. I ran into the plant got to my desk when the guy I work with said "Nice shoes." I looked down and saw I still had my Crocs on. Now when you work in a plant Crocs are a little bit of a safety violation. I frantically called Big-D, who is the best guy in the whole wide world and got his butt out of bed on his day off at 6:45 AM to bring me my shoes. The guy that I work with later told me that I was pretty lucky to have a man that would do that for me, he informed me that he wouldn't do it for his girlfriend. I do love my Big-D very much and all that he does for me.
After the day started out kind of crappy it did get better after I left work.
Went to a going-away party for a very good friend of mine, Mikey. Mikey is one of my best friends, we've known each other since sixth grade. We dated on and off throughout high school and probably would have dated in college if it wasn't for the whole long distance relationship thing. Anyways, Mikey left of the Army on Sunday. I took Hank over with me and his parents were in love with his cuteness and how smart he was at 10 weeks old.
For mother's day my mom was having a cookout at her house. Unfortunately we didn't coordinate very well and Big-D's mother day celebration was at the same time. My only company while at my mom's wasn't even going to be there with me. Don't get my wrong, I love my mom but other than her there would be no one for me to talk to. My stepdad's side of the family kind of ignores me and my sisters could care less that I even exist. Bet you guys didn't even know I have two sisters. Anyways, I contemplated not taking Hank with me. I mean my mom hates dogs, my stepdad really really hates dogs and I really didn't want to listen to my mom chew me out about getting a puppy. I ended up taking him for the reason that I needed a friend there to keep me entertained, since my family was more then likely to ignore me. I was also hoping my brother would have the day off and Hank would get to play with his best friend, Dakota. Before we left our house, I made sure that he had a good play, that he ate and that I grabbed toys and treats for his entertainment.
I left Hank in the truck for a couple minutes (don't worry I parked in the shade and rolled down the windows) and took my dish to pass inside. I then told my mom that I had gotten a puppy. It went like this:
Me: "So do you want to see my puppy?"
Mom: "Why in hell did you get a puppy?"
Me: "Because I wanted one."
Mom: "Well, I guess it was only a matter of time before you got one."
My mom (the woman who hates dogs) was in love with him. She even walked him for a little bit, while I cuddled the new kittens.
My stepdad's family is a little on the odd side. I had Hank in my arms and his sister told me that I should probably keep him tied up because he would run away. Mind you Hank is twn weeks old but for the most part he gets the concept of come. I had no issues with him not listening, except for when he found the cat under the deck. Even when we went for a nice long walk in the fields/woods where he wasn't even on his leash (I was a little nervous about this) he listened very well and stayed close by.
Then the thing that surprised me the most happened. My sister that never I mean never talks to me, didn't even congratulate me on getting engaged, came over and talked to me. Of course she mainly wanted to come over and play with Hank but I was surprised. She asked me all sorts of questions and was completely amazed when I told him to sit that he sat. She also asked me where my engagement ring was since she never had a chance to see it. I wanted to answer you could of seen it at Easter but you choose to ignore me, but I politely answered with I forgot to put it on. Then I got a weird look like how do you forget to put it on, I explained I work in a plant and I am not allowed to wear rings (or jewelry at all) so it's not in my daily routine to put it on. I mean most of the time I do have it on it's because Big-D remembered to grab it for me.
Hank was a very good boy for his first family outing. Everyone complimented on how well behave and calm he was compared to my brother's dog, Dakota. Mind you I spent an hour or so playing with him before we even left the house. (Don't give away my secrets.) My sister informed everyone that he sits when told to sit (I don't find this that amazing).
After a long hard day of playing, we came home and Hank passed out, which meant that I was able to do a few things (which included sweeping) around the house. He was one tired puppy because he slept with me until about 9 in the morning. That is late for him by the way, he usually has me up at 7.
However, I was a very bad puppy mom and forgot the camera. I mean I grabbed the camera bag but I didn't double check to make sure the camera was actually in the bag...opps. I know my sister got some cute pictures of him but likelihood of me ever seeing said pictures are well slim to none.
Well, I hope everyone else were able to enjoy mother's day.

This looks yummy
Okay this post has nothing to do with food at all.
Sorry if I fooled you, but it does have pictures of a my crazy cute (or at least I think he is) puppy, Hank.
Off to go figure out with plants are poisonous and make sure I don't have those in my yard because he likes to eat all of the leaves on the plants/flowers. He was only interested in this one though because I was taking pictures of it. He picked it for me and everything. Now down to only two pretty tulips in the yard (sad face).

PS: I took these with my brand new sparkly camera, what do you think?

Meet Hank
Everyone meet Hank!
He has big green eyes.
He has big brown floppy ears.
He has huge paws. He is going to be a big boy.
Loves to cuddle with his mama.

Stay tune for some crazy cute pictures of this little guy. I left my camera at home and this one was from a phone so it's not the best picture.

Can of Paint vs Baby
So, I went to Lowe's today...I know big surprise right. I basically live there, only bad thing is that that closest Lowe's to me is a hour round trip. I am a dedicated Lowe's shopper, some of the employees know me by name.
Anyways, while I was standing in a long line holding my can of paint like it was a baby because the handle was hurting my beaten up hand. I was debating on what was lighter the can of paint I was holding or the baby that the guy behind me in line was holding.
I then asked the guy holding the baby which he thought was lighter. He said the baby, but then told me that the can of paint was definetly cheaper.
Does anyone else wonder really weird things and discuss them with complete strangers while standing in long lines? Or is it just me?

Day I Can't Count That High
I have lost count on to what day we are on and I don't feel like counting to figure out.
I don't even really know what to name is post since this weekend was filled with a lot of random projects.
Let me first state the master bedroom has been painted and I have been happily sleeping in my bed for a week now. The paint wasn't even dry and I was moving the bed in there. Pretty sure I got a little high off paint fumes that first night but I don't even care cause I got to sleep in my bed.
My mom and stepdad stopped over this weekend (she brought me some homemade spaghetti sauce, Thanks Mom!) to see the house. They were both very impressed with not only the color of the room (they thought I'd go majorly bright orange) but how well my drywall joints looked. Then my stepdad critiqued my drywall and that made me a little mad and want to cry I thought they looked really good except for one.
I also think that we need to invest in some bedroom furniture now. We don't even own a dresser. We have this huge (14 x 15) room and there is literally a bed and that small table (which I stole from my brothers room).
We also put a door on this weekend. I was tired to having to put up plastic to keep dust out. Just ignore that fact that there is drywall missing around the door frame and that the door has to be painted.
On Saturday we started taking down drywall in the office closet and hallway closet. We are relocating the laundry room from the dining room and making a laundry room that we be right across from the master bedroom. This will be a large project since we have to remove walls and then build new ones; plus rewiring a room.
When my mom was over I could tell she was having a hard time picturing the new laundry room but I think it was because there were a lot of extra walls plus the new wall.
Before, looking in from the hallway.
Before looking in from the office.
After, the new wall (well part of it) from the office.
After, the new wall from the hallway.
We also practiced trust this weekend, when it comes to electricity in the house Big-D really trust me. Well I think it helps that the voltage reader thingy that I have beeps if there is current in the wire.
There was only one small incident during demolition. It was a rather very disgusting incident; we had SIX dead mice in the wall and let me tell you it smelled to bad. I think we have just about used a full bottle of Febreeze spray.
We have a lot more to do on this room but now that I only have a few classes I will hopefully have a lot more time to work on projects around the house and fun projects for baby cousin (stay tune).
